VMM® Skin Blend
Skin & Scar Camouflage by Vicky Martin
Skin traumas such as burns, surgical scars, self-harm scars, and skin grafts can often leave visible reminders that can negatively impact your self-confidence and make you feel uncomfortable when you see yourself in the mirror. It’s natural to worry about how others perceive these skin irregularities as well.
However, the good news is that we can help you conceal and camouflage these marks from medical and elective surgeries, burns, skin grafts, and other skin injuries.
Our services can help you feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin, allowing you to focus on the things that matter most to you.
VMM® Skin Blend
Vicky has witnessed countless reconstructed breasts throughout her career, and it always bothered her that even after her beautiful nipple and areola artwork was complete, her clients were still often left with significant scarring or mismatched skin tones around the breasts.
Determined to enhance the overall appearance of reconstruction using medical tattooing, she set out to find a solution.
After months of rigorous testing, fine-tuning, and performing numerous treatments while meticulously examining healed skin, Vicky’s VMM® Skin Blend technique was born.
The results? Scars that are less noticeable and reconstructed breast skin that blends more seamlessly with the surrounding natural skin.
It can also help camouflage most pale, white-colored scars, including self-harm scars, cosmetic surgery scars, such as facelift scars, and other surgical or injury trauma scars.
The needling action of the camouflage process also packs an additional punch by helping to break down dense, fibrous scar tissue and triggering the body’s production of collagen and elastin. The result? A flatter, more comfortable scar that looks and feels more natural.
With the VMM® Skin Blend technique, skin grafts can be made to closely resemble the surrounding skin tones, giving you a more natural look.
Just as with other micropigmentation procedures, camouflage is a two-part process, with sessions spaced around 6 weeks apart to allow for proper healing in between treatments.
The treated area will appear quite red immediately after treatment but this will subside over the next 24-48 hours.
It’s important that you follow the aftercare instructions given to you to ensure the healed results.
The Retouch / Second Session
During the retouch session, Vicky will assess how the first treatment has healed and make any necessary adjustments to the colour.
Your retouch appointment should take around 1-2 hours.
Scars must be healed before Vicky can treat them, (ideally 6 months or more) and white in colour.
We are unable to treat keloid scars. If you are unsure of the type of scarring you have, please send us a clear photo of your scar(s), or check with a medical profressional.
It may not be possible to camouflage scars on darker skin tones since they are more prone to hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation, which could amplify the visibility of the scar.
Please call 07852 879470 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to book your appointment.
To ensure the best possible treatment, we may request clear photographs of the areas you would like Vicky to work on. This will help her determine the best approach for your specific needs. Don’t worry, your privacy is important to us, and all photos will be kept confidential. If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
